President’s Message
As I accept and take the reins of this new journey as President of the Black Nurses Association of Greater St. Louis Inc., I must first say that it’s an honor and a privilege to be granted the opportunity. I would like to say thank you to our past founders and past President for the reestablishment of our St. Louis Chapter. Following in the footprints left by my mentor Kenya Haney, I am positive that I have the proper foundation, and have learned from the best on how to thrive and survive. I am committed to exploring the passions of my fellow nurses and providing a platform for them to exemplify their talents through their works within the organization.
Our organization is comprised of RN’s, LPN’s, retired nurses, and student nurses. We take pride in being great leaders as practitioners, community educators, advocators for our community as well as for health policy. Through our diversity in nursing, we would like to foster mentorship within our profession. Our mission is to improve the health of the minority population through education and access. We are involved in various community activities such as health fairs, expos, career fairs, blood pressure screenings, and educational symposiums. We would like to make an impact not only nationally but locally as well through placing our concentrations on the various health policies and issues. Our goal is to not only provide education but to also lobby at our State Capitol as well as on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. In an effort to assist our community in adopting a healthier lifestyle, we invite all nurses and nursing students to join us. Please bring your fresh ideas, dreams and strategies to our organization. We believe that united we will stand much stronger than we ever will divided.
